2K, 5K & 10K Runs For All the Family

 
  2010 Events

  Easter Sunday Run
  Our first ever Easter Sunda Run took place in Beecraigs country park. A 5k (one around the course) and a 10k (twice around the
  course) run proved to be extremely challenging for the runners due to the adverse weather conditions during the week, leaving
  parts of the course extremely muddy.
  Around 40 runners took part with an Easter Egg hunt provided for the kids whilst the runners were treking round the course.

Half Marathon / Relay Event (23rd May)

West Lothian Run held its 2nd annual half marathon/relay event at Meadow park in Bathgate on Sunday 23rd May despite sweltering conditions 100 runners took part in the event with no injuries.

Runners were set off at 9.30am by David Stein, Chairman of Enterprising Bathgate who sponsored the event. Warm up was provided by West Lothian Leisure giving the participants a tough workout before the start.

The course record is still held by David Millar with a time of 71.57 which was set in the 2009 event.  The fastest women's course record is also held by the 2009 winner Suzanne Matonti with a course time of 91.56

We would also like to congratulate No 1 runner Elspeth Nicholson who completed her first ever half marathon in under 3 hours so well done Elspeth! from the WLR team.

Santa Run (5th December)
Unfortunetly due to the adverse weather conditions the Santa Run was postponed till January. Date to follow shortly
